At the beginning of the new millennium, Grabas went through a short, intensive phase in which he dealt with aesthetic and political topics

of pop culture - this shows particularly clearly how he was often ahead 

of his time by critically reflecting on currently urgent social challenges

such as climate change, racism or the Janus-faced technical progress already more than 20 years ago. For this he ripped picture elements from countless fashion and reportage magazines out of their

original contexts, combined them into new image compositions and

glued them to paper. The result is a visually appealing series of 

socially relevant pop art collages.
